How it works

Claim your email handle

Go to Account Settings → Email-to-task. Choose a handle — e.g. yourname@in.taptidy.app. Takes 10 seconds.

Forward any email to it

Forward a flight confirmation, a billing reminder, a Slack notification, a meeting request — anything. No special formatting required.

Review and save

TapTidy extracts the task title, due date, project guess, and priority. Each field shows a confidence score. Edit any low-confidence field, then save. The task appears in your inbox immediately.

What gets extracted

TapTidy parses each incoming email for:

Task title — inferred from email subject and opening sentence
Due date — detected from date strings, phrases like "by Friday", "before March 15th"
Project assignment — based on keywords and your existing project names
Priority — inferred from urgency language ("URGENT", "ASAP", "action required")
Notes — the email body is attached as a task note for reference

Fields the parser isn't confident about are shown with a yellow indicator. You can correct them in the review UI before saving — or accept them as-is if they look right.

Privacy

Email content processed by the email-to-task pipeline is not used to train any machine learning models, on any tier. The parser is a rules-based extraction system — not a cloud AI service.

On Pro and Pro Privacy tiers, after the task is created, it is encrypted on your device like any other task. The email body attached as a task note is also encrypted before storage.

Availability

Email-to-task is included in TapTidy Pro and Pro Privacy. It is not available on the Free tier.

Can I forward emails to TapTidy to create tasks?

Yes. On Pro and Pro Privacy, you can claim a personal TapTidy email address (e.g. yourname@in.taptidy.app). Forwarding any email to that address automatically creates a structured task with title, due date, project, and priority extracted by the parser — with a review step showing confidence scores before you save.

How does TapTidy extract task details from emails?

TapTidy uses a rules-based parser (not a cloud AI service) to extract fields from forwarded emails: the task title is inferred from the subject and opening sentence; due dates are detected from phrases like 'by Friday' or 'before March 15th'; project assignment is guessed from keywords; and priority is inferred from urgency language like 'URGENT' or 'ASAP'.
